Wellington State Bank Community Overview

Wellington State Bank, founded in Wellington, TX, was established in 1906 by local leaders who sought to fill the needs of their growing community. What started out as a small venture to finance local farmers and ranchers in a west Texas town has now grown to fourteen branches in communities located primarily across the Texas Panhandle.  Branches are located in Childress, Wheeler, Memphis, Canadian, Bowie, Lubbock, Littlefield, Olton, Dalhart, Paducah, Canyon, Granbury and Stephenville, Texas. The majority of the branches serve rural areas and provide financial support to many different types of agricultural production from row crops, to feed lot operations, ranching operations and everything in between. We also have local oil and gas production projects. With the acquisition of Security State Bank and First National Bank of Dalhart in 2016, Wellington State Bank grew its community area for serving the financial needs of its customers into the Lubbock, TX market territory where commercial business is booming and added additional farm and ranch community service through the Dalhart, Littlefield and Olton locations. In late 2019, we merged with First National Bank of Paducah and First Community Bank which further expanded our service areas and moved us into part of the Amarillo MSA and Randall County. Wellington State Bank is proud of our growth and ability to serve such a wide variety of customers throughout Texas.

We strive to help meet the credit needs of our entire communities, including low and moderate income areas while operating in a safe and sound manner. We serve all tracts in each county in which we are located as our defined assessment areas.  While Wellington State Bank continues to grow, we have not forgotten our roots and the original mission of serving our local communities. We strive to provide excellent financial services and community service in all we do. Employees at all branches serve on boards and are actively involved in growing, improving, and helping their communities so that the citizens may continue to thrive and prosper.

We are proud to be a part of each community in which we serve.
